How to Change the Pocket Clip on the Lansky World Legal
September 12, 2014
The World Legal is an ambidextrous carry knife with a 4-position pocket clip. Because it’s been designed with all users in mind (lefties, righties, tip-up or tip-down carriers), the clip can be changed to suit each person’s needs.
Changing the pocket clip on the World Legal (or any of the Lansky/Willumsen knives) is quite easy. Start by unscrewing the clip from its original position.
Have a thread-locking adhesive ready to go. We like Loctite’s® Threadlocker Blue 242®, but feel free to use whichever thread-locking adhesive you prefer.
If you’re using Loctite’s® Threadlocker Blue 242®, shake well before using. Snip a piece off the tip of the bottle to create a small opening.
(Note: the adhesive can poor out quickly. Test its flow on a piece of scrap paper before using it on the knife to avoid incident).
Next, you’ll carefully apply the adhesive to the threaded area on the knife.
Position the clip in its new location and screw into place.
Allow 10 minutes for the adhesive to set, and 24 hours for it to cure fully.
Our World Legal pocket clip has now been changed from a tip-up to a tip-down carry.
