Purchased the 8" ceramic sharpening rod. The description is limited but it states the rod is made of alumina ceramic, however the rod is gray, not white / off-white like alumina should be. Not sure what Lansky adds to the ceramic or if this is merely an alumina coating on a steel rod, but whatever it is, it's not advertised or described well.
